Knowledge of operating a water treatment and distribution system. Knowledge of wastewater systems is preferred, but not required. General knowledge of mathematics, plumbing and electrical controls, with the ability to accurately read gauges, meters, level indicators, etc. Experienced in taking samples, using testing equipment to analyze samples and make recommendations based on results. Experience in the fields Water Treatment and Distribution, Wastewater Collection and Treatment or Industrial Maintenance is a plus. Water Operator Certification is required. Wastewater Operators Certification is a plus, but not required. Experienced in performing maintenance, repairs and construction work on these systems. Perform other related duties as required. High school diploma is required. Considerable knowledge of potential hazards associated with this work, with ability to recognize and implement appropriate safety precautions. Effective spoken and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare and maintain clear, concise and accurate forms and reports. Responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the Rosedale lab. Works closely with all team members particularly the Lab Director to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner and that procedures and quality standards are being maintained. Responsible for supervising and mentoring laboratory technicians and analysts.As the lead in projects, the Laboratory Operations Manager will oversee and coordinate all aspects of a given project while maintaining adherence to lab requirements. While not specifically using the equipment, they will spend their time coordinating details to provide accurate results while following procedures. Will work closely with the QC/QA Specialist to oversee laboratory safety policies, training and enforcing such policies. Inventory, stock, audit and organize supplies and chemicals.
Must have proven problem-solving skills with experience in a laboratory setting. Required to have a bachelor's of science in microbiology, chemistry, or chemical engineering. Assist with experiments and procedures.Will assist with day to day operations including, but not limited to collecting and analyzing mold samples, collecting water samples, preparing and conducting analysis of samples under the supervision of the Lab Director, setting radon monitors and logging samples into our data management system. Water and mold samples will be prepared for analysis in accordance with the Home Land Environmental Health Lab’s Standard Operation Procedures for each method. Candidate will work on special projects that will involve marketing the lab and earning additional accreditations as requested. Provide quality customer service to clients. Will have the opportunity to attend training classes in areas of biology, radon, water chemistry, mold collection and mitigation, microbiology, quality assurance, laboratory safety and MDE/EPA protocol. This individual will utilize best laboratory practices with safety as a priority. Must be familiar with lab protocol detailed in our safety manual. Superb communication, organizational and time management skills are required. Provide information to assist clients with remediation and answer questions. Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping on equipment and the laboratory.

Seeking a trustworthy professional to operate a Rigid fiber-optic camera and earn your certification to perform water sampling and conduct septic inspections. All certifications/licenses paid for by Home Land Environmental. Opportunities to earn your Pump Installers license, radon certification and mold sampling certification are also available. Join local real estate professional chapters and attend networking events to enhance our footprint in the industry. Experienced Environmental Inspectors will have the opportunity to teach CE classes available for real estate agents. Must have superb communication skills and not be afraid to get your hands dirty while learning a new field. Daily work will include locating and accessing septic systems for visual inspections, collecting water quality samples from private wells, connecting hoses to pressure tanks to determine the yield among other duties. If the system does not have access, digging may be required. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 75 pounds and enjoy working outdoors yearlong. Pick up and drops offs will start in Rosedale, MD and involve transporting to Annapolis and Waldorf, MD then back to Rosedale with occasional additional stops along the route. The primary role of this administrative position is to schedule appointments with clients who contact us to have their home (or soon-to-be home) tested for various potential risks that may include impurities in their drinking water, mold, radon, septic tank inspections, camera sewer inspections, and well yield tests. You’ll be responsible for providing STELLAR customer service while scheduling appointments and answering the often never-ending list of questions. You should be able to establish an encouraging rapport quickly because of your positive attitude and ability to connect with the client. You can also speak knowledgeably about our service lines and the real estate industry (which don’t worry, we will teach the right candidate).You should love talking on the phone, know the geography of our service area (Maryland and Southern PA), and be able to piece together a constantly evolving puzzle.
