Environmental Inspector Internship

Want to work outdoors this summer? Environmental inspection company is seeking 1-2 college juniors or seniors that enjoy problem solving, a passion for the environment and enjoy working in a fast-paced industry, filled with learning opportunities. Earn your water sampling certification through Maryland Department of the Environment during your internship. No experience necessary, you will be trained side by side with a mentor on all services lines including water sample collection, radon testing, sewer and septic evaluations, well yields, etc. This is a PAID internship with the opportunity to earn college credit as well. Must be at least 18 years old and drive a company vehicle. Strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and basic computer skills are required. A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is also required, in addition to successfully passing a criminal background check.

Daily work will include locating and accessing septic systems for visual inspections, collecting water quality samples from private wells, completing radon in the air testing, connecting hoses to pressure tanks to determine the yield among other duties. If the system does not have access digging may be required. A typical work day may involve driving for prolonged period of time (1-4 hours per day), continuously standing, walking, carrying and lifting. A physical requirement of the job includes the ability to lift upwards of 100 lbs. Frequent bending and squatting. Occasional crawling and climbing a ladder. Willingness to work in all various types of weather. Occasionally accessing and traversing crawl spaces. Growth opportunities within the company are available. Customer service experience strongly preferred.
