Home Land Labs is looking to add a lab technician to our team to specialize in drinking water analysis. This is an entry-level, full-time position that will report to our Annapolis lab. Day-to-day operations include, but are not limited to, preparing, analyzing, and logging samples into our Lab Information Management System (LIMS). Samples will be prepared for analysis in accordance with the Home Land Labs’ Standard Operation Procedures, Quality, and Safety Manual. Will follow the procedure to retain and properly dispose of samples. Will prepare laboratory reports for clients. Accept samples from clients. Complete daily and monthly Quality Assurance checks as assigned. General customer service skills are required. Will have the opportunity to attend training classes in the areas of water chemistry, sample collection, quality assurance, laboratory safety, and MDE/EPA protocol. Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping on equipment and the laboratory. Monitor inventory and supplies. Clean glassware and prepare reagents. A bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science or Health is required. Experience in a laboratory setting is preferred. Candidate must have strong time management skills, exhibit flexibility, and be an honest, reliable person.
