Becomes First In Metro-Baltimore To Earn Distinction
BALTIMORE – February 18th, 2020 – Earlier this month, the American Industrial Hygiene Association’s Lab Accreditation Program (AIHA LAP, LLC) granted Home Land Labs in Rosedale accreditation after it successfully completed the Environmental Microbiology Laboratory Accreditation Program (EMLAP) for Air and Surface Fungal examinations. The lab, part of Home Land Environmental (HLE) in Rosedale is the only lab within the Metro-Baltimore region and is the third in the entire state of Maryland to earn this accreditation.
“Mold analysis is a highly unregulated business,” said Tim Shotzberger, President of HLE. “Organizations such as the AIHA LAP, LLC have these accreditation programs to ensure that laboratories such as our meet the highest scientific standards. We’re honored to have received this accreditation, and see this as a testament to the high level of quality and professional service we’re known for.”
Through this accreditation, HLE will be the go-to-site for Certified Industrial Hygienists for testing. More importantly, all HLE results will be legally defensible in court.
The accreditation process by AIHA LAP, LLC took approximately 9 months and included HLE developing official Manuals and Standard Operation Procedures that are consistent with the International Standards Organization (ISO) 17025:2016 and the successful completion of 2 quarterly performance tests performed by an AIHA site assessor.
Home Land Labs (ID LAP-232343) is now accredited by the AIHA Laboratory Accreditation Programs (AIHA LAP, LLC) in the EMLAP accreditation program for the analyses of Fungal Spores by Air – Direct Examination & Surface – Direct Examination, as documented by the Scope of Accreditation Certificate and associated Scope.
